Job Opening: Director of Nursing
Highland County Health Department
Position Description: The Highland County Health Department is accepting applications for the Director of our Public Health Nursing Division. This leadership level position will: supervise day-to-day operations of the Public Health Nursing Division, assist in budget preparation, develop policies, manage grants, provide oversight for clinical services, oversee and develop community health initiatives, provide direct patient care, and perform other duties as required. This position will work directly with patients in vaccine administration, phlebotomy, patient education, and other public health nursing duties.
Approved Salary Range: $49,400 to $59,283
Hours: Full-time, Exempt (38 hours per week /76 hours per pay)
Estimated 50% time in direct patient care, 50% time in management / leadership.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Licensed registered nurse, Bachelors of Science in Nursing (or related bachelor’s degree), Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience required, Valid driver’s license/insurance, Current CPR/AED certification (or ability to get in first 6 months)
Must be very comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Word, and the use of technology.
Masters Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field, Prior experience in supervisory roles, Experience in public health settings, Experience with childhood and adult immunization recommendations/requirements, Experience in grant writing and management
