Health Department and County Commissioners Conducting Rocky Fork Lake Dumpster Days for Highland County Residents

8/25/2022

The Highland County Health Department and Highland County Commissioners will be providing another community dumpster at Rocky Fork Lake August 31st (9am-4pm) and September 1st (12pm-6pm). The Rocky Fork Lake Community Dumpster Days will be held at the same location as the last event. The event will be held at 6744 Inverness Ct. Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.

Courtney Hall, an environmental specialist at the Health Department, states “The last event was a huge success! We were able to fill the entire dumpster during the first day of the event. We are very excited to be able to provide the community with this opportunity again!”.

Jared Warner, the Highland County Health Commissioner, reports “We received a lot of interest regarding a second RFL Dumpster Days event and with the help of the Highland County Commissioners we were able to make it happen. We are hoping these events will help us enhance the natural beauty of Highland County by cleaning up some of the excess garbage and debris that is in our communities.”

This special event will be acting on a first come, first serve basis. When the dumpster becomes full, the event will end even if it is before 6pm on September 1st.  The following items will not be accepted at this event: concrete, rocks, bricks, batteries, auto parts, tires, drums, liquids, chemicals, appliances, electronics, hazardous waste or asbestos.
